The Girl with Flaxen Hair - Claude Debussy

The Girl with Flaxen Hair - Claude Debussy

"La fille aux cheveux de lin" composed by Claude Debussy in 1910mis the eighth prelude in his first book of Preludes. The title and inspiration for the piece come from a poem of the same name by the French poet Leconte de Lisle. The poem describes a young girl with long, flowing hair the color of flax. The piece is known for its delicate and impressionistic melody, as well as its use of whole-tone scales and parallel chords.
