Canción nº6 - Federico Mompou
This song by Federico Mompou belongs to the cycle of thirteen songs and dances for piano, composed starting in 1921. This particular piece was composed in 1943. Along with number 5, they are the only original songs, unlike the others which are taken from Catalan folklore. As some scholars of Mompou's work have defined, the use of "ambiguous" chords (those in which the tonality cannot be clearly defined) gives this music a very special flavor and lyricism. From the original in E minor, I made the transcription in D minor (with the sixth in D) for its adaptation to a tonality compatible with the guitar.
